The Transport and Logistics Ministry continues its efforts to achieve the goals of the Hajj and Umrah sector, aiming to raise performers to 30 million, by 2030.
Such a move falls in line with the efforts of the transport and logistics system, in this regard, as ministry works to implement the direct link between Jeddah and Makkah, with the length of 71 km, including four lanes in each direction, to improve the quality of roads and upgrade all services provided, as the project contributes to: Accommodating the increase targeted by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, in serving the pilgrims, new residential areas and neighborhoods, in eastern Jeddah and northern Makkah, as well.
Moreover to shortening the average flight time between northern Jeddah and Makkah, and linking King Abdulaziz Airport with Makkah, confirming the extent of integration between the various sectors of the transport and logistics’ system.
The road will contribute to raising the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of the transport sector, facilitating the transportation of pilgrims and pilgrims, and reducing traffic congestion on existing roads, especially the Haramain Road.
This road is also among the projects that the transport and logistics system is working on, towards developing the road infrastructure, across the Kingdom, in general, and Jeddah-Makkah, in particular.
