2024 set as the Camel Year

Kingdom-bases FAO Representative Confirm Cooperation with Camel’s Int’l Organization

Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Kingdom, Dr. Abu Bakr Abdul Aziz Muhammad, confirmed that coordination with the International Camel Organization, is taking place through coordination on aspects of future cooperation and closely working together to implement the International Year of Camel 2024 goals.

And to conduct initial programs and workshops to reconcile work and cooperation between the two the two international organizations, he added.

In a statement on the sidelines of the meeting of the International Camel Organization with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, he explained that: “This meeting will be the initial nucleus of cooperation between the two organizations, as they work in the same direction and have the same goals.

They also share strong factor linking them, which is the livestock sector, and sustainable development goals, including achieving food security and eliminating on poverty and hunger, in addition to a set of development goals that the two organizations seek to achieve, at the global level.

A meeting was held between the International Camel Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, at the organization’s headquarters, during King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, in Al-Sahid, to discuss the joint action plan for the Year of camels in 2024, and a number of common topics were discussed, including the action plan between the two organizations, and it was also agreed upon to join efforts to feed the FAO Global Database with detailed information, relating to the camels and their products, remarkably, in the Kingdom and the region.
