Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has called on importers, exporters and customs clearers to review the new and updated version of the Harmonized System for Classifying and Taxonomizing Goods “Customs Tariff”, which has undergone many updates, that keep pace with the development in industries, technology and innovations, as these updates will be applicable to the items and addresses of those goods, starting from 1 January 2022.
These updates are the fruits of holding continuous meetings, during the past 5 years.
The authority explained that the aim of these periodic updates to the customs tariff every 5 years, is to facilitate the process of product control and to facilitate the collection, comparison and analysis of statistics related to international trade.
In addition to the full realization that takes into consideration, changes in technology, industries, and forms of trade, that require extensive adjustments to contribute to facilitate customs procedures and make them more flexible.
The authority called for viewing the updated electronic version available on its website, by visiting the page devoted to customs tariffs.
It also call on the authority, in case of any inquiry, and to communicate with it through the unified number of the call center (19993), working 24-hour a day, 7-day a week, or “Ask Zakat, Tax and Customs” account on Twitter (@zatca_Care) or through e-mail (info@zatca.gov.sa), or via instant chats on the website (zatca.gov.sa).
It is noteworthy that the customs tariff means a table containing the names of the goods, the categories of “customs duties” to which they are subject, and the rules and notes contained therein for the varieties and types of all imported goods.
