Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has jumped 23 ranks, to become the best developed country, in the field of digital government, in the World Digital Government Rankings Survey 2021, in its 16th edition, issued by the Institute for Digital Government at Waseda University, in Japan.
The survey was conducted, in collaboration with the International Academy (IAC) as of 2005, and includes 64 country around the world, where the Kingdom ranked thirty, in the general index and eleventh among the G20 member states.
The annual indicator measures progress in government digital services, their link to innovation and integration, and their contribution to improving the efficiency of administrative and financial work, in addition to improving the quality of life for beneficiaries, as well as their contribution to promoting sustainable development goals.
The report praised efforts exerted by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the field of community participation and digital legislation, in addition to establishing the Digital Government Authority.
The report also indicated that digital government services can provide effective solutions to societies, in times of crisis, as the world witnessed during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Year 2020-2021.
