A Royal Order was issued to transform King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center into an independent, not-for-profit, government-owned institution, paving the way for a comprehensive program to make it one of the best healthcare centers in the world.

Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) and the Chairman of Board of Directors of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) expressed his sincerest thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Chairman of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City for their support for the hospital, and for prioritizing the wellbeing of citizens and residents in the Kingdom.

Directives of HRH  Crown Prince to transform the KFSH&RC into a not-for-profit institution would aid in advancing medical research, the opening of additional branches, and expanding services at the hospital, he added.

“This step is a major enabler of the transformation journey that the hospital has embarked on to achieve its objectives, in line with the goals of Vision 2030 in order to improve the quality of healthcare as well as the quality of life in the Kingdom,” Al-Rasheed elaborated.

The hospital’s board of directors is overseeing the comprehensive transformation program which institutes continuous professional development for its employees as well as improvements in capabilities and capacity, ultimately resulting in higher quality of healthcare for the patients and community and enabling the KFSH&RC to become a global destination for medical tourism.

The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center is considered one of the most prominent healthcare institutions in the Kingdom as well as the region for its world-class healthcare, and the institution aspires to be one of the best global academic medical centers over the next ten years, by attracting and fostering the best local and international talent.

“The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center has carried out extensive efforts to improve efficiency and productivity, and strategic decisions have been made to enhance the overall quality of healthcare, patient experience, and operational efficiency through the implementation of thirteen parallel tracks to ensure the success of this transformation,” Dr. Majid Al Fayyadh, the CEO of the hospital, said, for his part.

“During the transformation period, all hospital services will remain available as the KFSH&RC staff lead the transformation into a not-for-profit entity,” Al Fayyadh concluded.
