Riyadh Dry Port Operation Awarded to Saudi Int’l Ports

The award came shortly after a fierce competition by five international operators to win this contract, which is scheduled to start at the beginning of next March 2022. Saudi Railways “SAR” announced.

The agreement was signed between SAR and the Saudi International Ports company under the patronage of the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Eng. Saleh bin Al-Jasser.

Existing competitive rates related to the local content in the Kingdom, and enhancing the security and safety of supply chains, in a way that is more in line with the overall national strategic objectives of transport and logistics services, targeted by the transport system in the Kingdom, is the main goal of the bid.

Through this contract, SAR seeks to raise the operational efficiency of this line to reach the barrier of 1.5 million containers annually, by 2030, s, while providing 24-hour customer service, as these new rates will be reached through innovative work mechanisms based primarily on automation.
