General Authority for Defense Development, Spotlighted, in brief

The General Authority for Defense Development was established by a decision of the Cabinet.

It enjoys a legal personality and has financial and administrative autonomy.

However, it is linked to the Prime Minister. It is concerned with defining the objectives and priorities of research, development and innovation activities related to the fields of defense technologies, systems and their related products, setting their policies, strategies, systems, programs and implementing plans, managing the operations of those activities, directing and following carrying them up.

A royal order was issued today appointing Dr. Faleh bin Abdullah Al-Saleh Al-Sulaiman as Governor of the General Authority for Defense Development, at the rank of Minister.

The Authority has a Board of Directors headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, and the membership of each of the following:

A – Deputy Minister of Defense (Vice President) and memberships of the coming, ex officio:

b- Chief of the General Staff.

C- Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries.

D- Governor of the General Authority for Defense Development.

E – Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs.

f- (Three) experienced persons appointed by a decision of the Prime Minister, based on a proposal from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority.

The board of directors of the authority reviews the draft organization, updating it in light of what was stated in this decision and the  proposals it sees in this regard, taking into account defining the roles and competencies that the authority will undertake to ensure integration with the relevant government agencies.

And in coordination with the Public Authority for military Industries, and whichever it deems appropriate from the other relevant authorities.
