GaStat: Wholesale Prices increase by 12.5% in November 2021

In November 2021, the Wholesale Price Index increased by 12.5% compared to the same month in 2020, and higher than October 2021 (11.9%), according to the latest report by General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).

The increase resulted mainly from the increase in the prices of Other Transportable Goods by 21.6% that has high weight in the index relatively, (GaStat) revealed on Wednesday.

Other Transportable Goods increased by 21.6%, due to the increase in basic chemicals prices by 74.7%, and refined petroleum products prices 28.3%, due to their weight in the index.

Metal products, machinery and equipment prices increased by 9.3%, due to higher prices of basic metals of 28.9%, and electrical machinery and apparatus of 8.4%.

Agriculture and fishery products prices increase by 7.7%, which resulted mainly from higher prices of Live animals and animal products by 8.2%, and agricultural products by 8.1%.

Food Products, Beverages, Tobacco and Textiles prices increased by 2.0%, because of the increase in the prices of Meat, Fish, Fruits, Vegetables, Oils and Fats by 6.0%.

Ores and Minerals prices went up by 3.1% because of the increase in stones and sand prices by 3.1%.

Wholesale price index increased by 0.4% in November 2021 compared to the previous month, influenced by the increase in other Transportable Goods prices by 0.6%. This can be attributed to the increase Basic Chemicals prices by 3.1%.

Agriculture and fishery products prices increased by 1.4%, influenced by the rise in agricultural products prices 1.6%. Food Products, Beverages, Tobacco and Textiles prices increased by 0.4%, impacted mainly by the increase in the prices of Meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, oils, and fats products by 1.0%.

Metal products, machinery and equipment prices increased by 0.1%, because of the increase in Radio, television and communication equipment and apparatus prices by 2.2%.

Ores and Minerals prices increased by 1.0%, because of the increase in stones and sand prices by the same percentage.
