Arab Executive Office for Electricity Kicks off Preparatory Meetings in Egypt

The preparatory meetings for the 36th session of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity kicked off today at the headquarters of the Secretariat General of the Arab League, which is scheduled to be held in-person on December 17 with the participation of member states of the Executive Office, namely; the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania and Yemen.

Director of the Energy Department at the Arab League Eng. Jamilah Matar said that holding the 12th meeting of the action team of studying the comprehensive electric connection as part of the preparatory meeting of the Executive Office, noting that that the 29th meeting of the steering committee tasked with following up on studying the comprehensive Arab electric connection, the fourth joint meeting for the committee of electricity experts and the committee of experts in renewable energy and energy efficiency are scheduled to be held over the next two days.

She highlighted the importance of these meetings and the issues to be discussed, mainly the developments in documents of the joint Arab market governance, rules of operating grids, the institutional framework for the Arab joint electricity market, and renewable energy and energy efficiency in Arab countries.
