Saudi Ports Authority "Mawani" announced

New Transshipment Service Launched, to connect the Kingdom, Bahrain, the Far East

A new transshipment service to link King Abdulaziz Port, in Dammam, Khalifa bin Salman Port, in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Far East ports, was launched, in partnership with the Saudi International Ports and Shipping Line (OOCL), Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” announced, with the aim of increasing transshipment volumes.

In addition to enhancing the flow of commercial traffic between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the countries of the region and the world.

Mawani seeks to raise the Kingdom’s share in the transshipment market from 21% currently to 50% by 2030, in addition to gaining the largest share of maritime trade transiting the Red Sea, and attracting an additional share of transshipment operations around the world, through redirecting them, to the Saudi ports, by implementing several pioneer projects, that would contribute to consolidating the Kingdom’s position, as a global center for logistics services, in line with the objectives of the national strategy for transport and logistics.

Subsequently, increasing the strength of linking Saudi ports with international ports, and attracting major international shipping line companies to it.
