UNESCO Elects Princess Haifa Al Meqrin to Chair Programs and External Relations Committee

The Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” has elected Princess Haifa bint Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf Al Meqrin, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to UNESCO as the Chairwoman of the Organization’s Programs and External Relations Committee from 2021 to 2023.

The election was made during the 213th session of the UNESCO Executive Board, which was held yesterday, Friday at the Organization’s headquarters in the French capital, Paris.

The Kingdom’s presidency of UNESCO’s Programs and External Relations Committee confirms its active and pivotal role in UNESCO to support the decision-making process in systematic and fair ways, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Organization’s work, thus achieving the sustainable development goals consistent with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
