TASI Demonstrates 44 Advancers, 78 Decliners

The Saudi stock exchange index fell 4.6 points, during the auction, on Sunday, November 21, 2021, closing at 11,485.94 points, compared to 11,490.54 points, before the auction.

As much as and 3.1 million shares were traded, with a total closing price of SR95.9 million, by executing 4964 deals.

Various firms have risen, garnering points shown in percentage, such as Chemical 1.4%, Ayan 1%, Inaam 0.9%, Al-Hokair 0.8%, Shams and Misk 0.7%, while 78 other firms saw their shares fall, topped by Arab Shield 1.7%, Paper Industry, and Taiba 1%. Petrochem accounts for 0.9%, SABIC Agricultural Nutrients for 0.8%, and Jabal Omar for 0.8%.

It’s worth noting that the closing auction is used to determine the market’s closing price, which is, in turn, determined using (the auction mechanism), considering supply and demand, to determine the fair price, conducive to the equilibrium price, determined during the closing auction, which lasts 10 minutes.

The closing auction begins at 3:00 p.m. and finishes at 3:10 p.m., following the end of continuous trading (session – the market is open).

On a daily basis, the closing price is derived when orders are processed at 3:10 pm + a maximum of 30 seconds.

Regular deals are used to compute the closing price, which is the deal price for shares worth more than SR15,000.

When there isn’t a regular transaction, the closing price is determined, using the price of the most recent deal, in the continuous trading, based on the prior day’s closing price.

Market orders are listed in the order book as the best bid/best bid, during the closing auction period, as there is no price throughout the auction period.

“Tadawul” session  is an additional, after the closing auction, whereas only the closing price resulting from the closing auction, can be recognized and traded, while the trading session on the closing price starts from 3:10 pm to 3:20 pm.
