SAMA Deputy Governor Receives visiting French Official

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Deputy Governor Ayman Al-Siyari received French Senator Nathalie Collet, in Riyadh, as part of her visit to the Kingdom.

Al-Sayyari discussed the most prominent issues of common interest, referring to the Kingdom’s leading role, in the region, and its work, in the context of combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

He reviewed the efforts made by the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia, in regulating the modern financial technology sector, indicating that the Central Bank has recently taken many measures related to financial payments, based on its role in promoting modern financial payment operations, providing the appropriate environment for them, and preventing their use in committing financial crimes, to protect the Saudi financial system.

Al-Sayyari pointed to the acceleration of fintechs witnessed by the financial sector, which calls for keeping pace with these developments through the enactment of related regulations.

For her part, French Senator Collet stressed the importance of the Kingdom’s leading role in confronting and combating terrorism and financial crimes, praising the continuous cooperation, in this aspect, the measures taken by the Kingdom
