The total sums disbursed in the Year 2020, was around SR24.58 billion, up 4.1% over the previous year’s total of SR23.6 billion.
The number of cases reached 488,125 thousand, in 2020, down from 529,984 thousand in 2019, according to figures from the General Organization for Social Insurance.
It showed that retirement claims accounted for almost 83% of the total benefits given, in 2020, as SR20.39 billion spent on them.
Early retirement and retiring at the age, are the two types of retirement situations.
During the Year 2020, as much as 14.58 billion were spent on early retirement cases, accounting for 71.5% of all retirement claims, and 59.3% of the total payout of benefits to subscribers.
Retirees under the age received SR5.8 billion in benefits, accounting for 23.6% of total benefits distributed, in 2020 and 28.5% of retiree benefits.
From the commencement of the system’s introduction in 1973, and on, through the conclusion of the Year 2020, a total of SR239.52 billion was disbursed to as much as 3.69 million beneficiaries.
