The Riyadh Chamber, represented by the Tourism Committee and the Ministry of Tourism, held a meeting in the presence of the Undersecretary for Investment Attraction at the Ministry of Tourism, Eng. Mahmoud Abdel-Hadi, the Chamber’s Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Committee Nayef Al-Rajhi, and a number of committee members and those interested in the sector.
Al-Rajhi stressed that the Chamber seeks, through this meeting to review the most important changes in the tourism sector, to keep pace with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, in addition to knowing the facilities provided to investors, in the sector in accordance with national investment and tourism.
For his part, Eng. Abdulhadi said that the ministry has developed its strategy based on 3 pivots, the most important of which is achieving 100 million visits annually by 2030, to place the Kingdom in the ranks of the five most visited countries globally, and creating one million additional jobs in the tourism sector by 2030, in addition to make tourism representing 10 % of GDP (that is, the second largest economic sector after oil.)
He indicated that the Ministry of Tourism aims to overcome obstacles in the tourism sector and projects through integrative government action to increase and improve the tourism supply, update regulations and laws to stimulate local and foreign investment in the tourism sector and create an attractive investment environment, as well as to raise the level of tourism supply and quality of services through appropriate regulations and legislation applying the best international experiences, in the local market and activating communication channels to facilitate the investor’s access to the information necessary to make informed investment decisions.
