Saudi Arabia, Spain Cooperate to Redraw Tourism Map

Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khatib recently met with visiting Spanish Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism María Reyes Maroto Illera, on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative, in Riyadh.

The two officials agreed to unify bilateral efforts to redraw the tourism map after the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to cooperating with the World Tourism Organization, in the context of strengthening international efforts in the global tourism sector.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of areas, in which Saudi Arabia and Spain play leading role, in reviving the tourism sector after the pandemic, to become among the most important pillars of the recovery of the global economy, through effective coordination to enable the consolidation of relations between governments and partners from the private sector, to work and cooperate together, to build a more resilient tourism sector, guaranteeing sustainability and inclusiveness ensuring its long-term prosperity.
