Riyadh to Play Host World Summit 22nd Edition, late 2022

The Kingdom will host the summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council, the largest demonstration, in the world, for the travel and tourism industry.

During the Future Investment Initiative forum, recently held, in Riyadh, the President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council Julia Simpson, stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed its keenness on the tourism sector, since the beginning of the pandemic, which caused almost complete suspension of international flights, and made sure that tourism remains at the top of the global agendas.

It played a major role in the efforts made to effect recovery, in this important sector, which contributes to building the economies of countries and provides jobs, for all people, around the world, she added.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation of the Kingdom for its tremendous efforts, she pointed that the Kingdom will play host to the summit, next year.

For his part, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khatib welcomed the decision to choose the Kingdom, as a host country for the next edition of the World Summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council, noting that the summit is an important platform to support partnership and coordination efforts between the public and private sectors; to improve the future of tourism industry, in the world, in general, and the Kingdom, in particular.

Al-Khatib promised the summit will be an embodiment of the Kingdom’s leading role in supporting the recovery of the global tourism sector, and shifting towards sustainability, looking forward to welcoming all members of the World Travel and Tourism Council, in the Kingdom.
