National Economy Main Indicators, Highlighted

Periodic presentation by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, regarding the most prominent national economy indicators, have been discussed, as the Economic and Development Affairs Council, virtually, met.

It also reviewed the Office of Strategic Management quarterly report, relating to realization of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Highlighting the most outstanding achievements, in terms of the strategic vision goals, the report presented a comprehensive overview assessing quarterly performance, future outlook for the remaining quarter of the current year, notably, an analysis over the main challenges lying ahead, efforts exerted and decisions approved by the council’s strategic committee.

It was briefed on the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture plan, regarding the progress made, to enhance environmental protection , SPA reported.

The presentation tackled restructuring the environment sector, activating its new institutional framework, relating executive laws and regulation for the environment, developing vegetation and combating desertification, enhancing environmental commitment and wildlife perseverance and biodiversity conservation.

In addition, protection of the coastal environment, upgrading waste management, revamping meteorological services, the environmental and financial sustainability fund for enhancing ecological awareness and community partnership, along with environmental agreements and international cooperation, including the most bold challenges and set forth appropriate recommendations, for them.

Privatization system and committees working on realizing it, besides a presentation submitted by the National Development Fund, on the state of infrastructure, were deliberated, too.
