National Competitiveness Center Organize Seminar on Digital Economy Law

The National Competitiveness Center, in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law “UNCITRAL” organized a virtual seminar on “Digital Economy Law”, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Commerce and CEO of the Center Dr. Iman Al-Mutairi, and a number of senior staff from the governmental and private sectors, and the participation of the Chairperson of the “UNCITRAL” Committee on E-Commerce and the Legal Expert at the World Bank, Dr. Gisela Dolores.

The latter presented an overview of the basic concepts underlying the law of the digital economy and its main areas, focusing on the basic areas, data privacy and means of protection, and electronic transactions.

This symposium comes in the light of the memorandum of cooperation between the Kingdom, represented by the National Competitiveness Center, and the United Nations, represented by the Office of Legal Affairs, in order to create a conducive legal environment for international trade and investment.
