Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO and Managing Director of the Emirati Mubadala Investment Company, said that Mubadala’s health investments have achieved many good returns.
As part of his participation in the fifth session of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2021 being held in Riyadh, Al Mubarak said that everyone is required to contribute in his own way whether they were institutions, governments or civil society.
“I am very fortunate to represent an investment institution that has the ability to take long-term solutions without affecting returns and revenues.” he continued
He explained that Mubadala investments are similar to some of the market requirements, indicating that “the issue begins with managing expectations, managing private assets and public companies, and making decisions.”
Al-Mubarak stressed that the changes facing the world, including climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic, have made the world work together to find solutions to these crises and provide the best possible solutions for humanity.
This came during a panel discussion entitled “Change Makers Council: Investing for Impact.”
The session addressed the importance of climate change, the challenges that will face future generations, possible investment opportunities, and the world’s focus on climate change.
It focused also on the importance of investing in small and medium-sized companies, and supporting young people to grow in the global economy, which will give them the opportunity to be more sustainable, and that renewable energy is one of the most important investments that shall be focused on, as investing in those companies will bring general benefit to all countries.
The session indicated that everyone shall be prepared for change and that the Coronavirus pandemic proved that and made everyone wake up and pay attention to what they shall look and focus on. It indicated that technology and innovation at the present time are very fast, and they shall be exploited.
The participants called on for the need to benefit from human energies, empower women and find innovative solutions to overcome the current obstacles, in addition to being guided in the use of electricity and the search for alternatives in clean energy.
The participants called for promoting the concept of social responsibility and charitable work to support societies for a prosperous future, pointing out that the “Covid-19” pandemic changed many concepts at the global level, which had a significant impact on the development in the use of technology.
