The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology honored 30 ambassadors of the Digital Giving Initiative and 20 partners in the initiative from various sectors, in a ceremony held under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Haitham bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali.
This honoring comes after the ministry’s being crowned in September last year, as it ranked first in the World Summit on the Information Society Award, in the cultural and linguistic diversity track.
The Digital Giving Initiative has reached more than 18 million beneficiaries in the technical field, to be a source of digital knowledge dissemination, while the number of its training programs has reached 1900, noting that the initiative, which includes more than 250 thousand members, has been able to move through its innovative media and technical tools.
It worked to support 113,000 beneficiaries from low-income families, with more than 28,000 tablets and 110,000 data chips, and providing virtual lectures to enable them to use technology remotely.
The number of partners in the initiative has exceeded 100 local and international partners, and the number of mentors in Your Digital Path Program has exceeded 300, with nearly 100 ambassadors currently.
