KSA Review the Vision 2030, in details

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reviewed its approach and strategy to achieve the Vision 2030 economic and development goals, the great strides it has made to achieve its goals, and the levels of progress it has made and is still making in this regard.

This came in a statement during the discussion of the Economic and Financial Committee, at the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly on item No. 20 “Sustainable Development”, delivered by the Chairperson of the Economic and Financial Committee, at the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to the United Nations, Reem bint Fahd Al-Omair.

The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals are the plan set by the United Nations, in order to achieve a better and sustainable future for all countries of the world, and the world is still facing many difficulties and challenges that require a lot of determination, resolve and pursuit to achieve the goals of sustainable development, Al-Omair stated.
What our world has experienced in the last two years of the spread of a global pandemic, that has caused many human losses and economic damage, will require standing together in the face of challenges and difficulties to continue working to achieve sustainable development for all and to ensure that no one is left behind, she pointed out.

Noting that five years since the launch of Vision 2030, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made a large number of exceptional achievements, focused on supporting raising the quality of life in the Kingdom, within a vibrant and consistent environment, as the vision contributed to economic growth, diversifying non-oil sources of income and benefiting from renewable energy productionز

She drew attention to the fact that the Vision 2030 programs resulted in laying solid foundations for improving the quality of life and promoting positive lifestyles, and also contributed to the development of a number of programs, that focused on improving financial sustainability, developing the national industry, promoting human capabilities, and plans that contributed to improving various sectors, including, but not limited, the health, tourism, and entertainment sectors.

“The vision pays a lot of attention to digital development, by establishing a solid digital infrastructure and accelerating digital transformation, Al-Omair said.

The ambitious vision has made great strides to achieve achievements and a lot of progress made, represented in strengthening infrastructure, reducing unemployment and disability rates, and achieving comprehensive economic and social gro she said, adding that: “My country will complete its achievements five years after the launch of the vision, to complete the march of progress towards a bright and sustainable future by empowering its members, men, women and youth, for whom the Kingdom has fully supported their development, in various fields and supported their ambition to be a key driver to advance the wheel of development.”

She stressed that the Kingdom shares the countries of the world with the challenges they face in achieving the sustainable development goals, and believes that strengthening international cooperation, is a vital requirement to address the challenges of the pandemic, and for the sake of sustainable recovery, indicating that the Kingdom is keen on international cooperation and support for the efforts of countries in achieving sustainable development.

The pandemic caused a lot of damage that affected the humanitarian, economic and social aspects, and set challenges in order to achieve the sustainable development goals, explaining that the world can only come together to reach a comprehensive recovery from the effects of the pandemic and facilitate all efforts and capabilities. In order to enhance it, Reem Al-Omair indicated.
She reiterated that the Kingdom has supported global efforts with an amount of $500 million to address the pandemic to recover from its effects, and has worked tirelessly to enhance the stability and stability of global oil markets during the pandemic.

Kingdom’s belief in its role in preserving the environment and combating climate change, as it worked to make efforts to address the effects of climate change, noting that the Kingdom launched the National Renewable Energy Program, which launched a number of projects aimed at increasing the production of renewable energy, she elaborated.

The Kingdom also announced the launch of my two initiatives Green Saudi Arabia and the Green Middle East Initiative, which will contribute to achieving global goals to combat climate change.

She explained that the Kingdom supports the circular economy of carbon as a means to mitigate the effects of emissions, noting that the Kingdom faces environmental challenges due to its geographical location, and is aware of the importance of addressing these challenges, including combating desertification, as the Kingdom is making efforts within the framework of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and works within the vision 2030 to protect it and also appreciates the international efforts, in this regard.

At the conclusion of the statement, Al-Omair affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to support international efforts and its commitment to close cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals, and to support humanitarian and development efforts globally, to achieve sustainable development for all.
