To attract investors interested in the dates from inside, abroad

AlUla Dates’ 2nd Festival Edition, Keeps Going on

The Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate launched the activities of the Al-Ula Dates Festival, in its second edition in the “Al-Fursan” area, with the participation of a number of government and private agencies, to provide an opportunity for Al-Ula farmers, community members and buyers and investors interested in the dates sector, to market their products inside and outside the Kingdom.

The festival extends for three weeks, as it will be held on Fridays and Saturdays of each week, and the morning period will be devoted to the commercial auction, from 6 am until 9 am, and the evening period will be devoted to the dates market, from five in the afternoon5 pm until 11 pm, where the festival will include various activities, such as families producing handicrafts, palm trees and other various activities.

Al-Ula governorate is characterized by more than two million and three hundred thousand palm trees, with an annual production which exceeds 90,000 tons of dates annually, with “Al-Barani” date as the most common dates’ variety.

There are 3 varieties of it, all which can be found in the same palm, such as “Al-Mabroum, Mashrouk and Al-Adi”, besides other various dates.
