Almarai Acquisition of Emirates-based Bottling, Beverage Plant, Approved

General Authority for Competition (GAC) issued today its approval of the acquisition by Almarai Company of a bottling and beverage production plant held by Binghatti Beverage Manufacturing LLC in UAE.

The competition authority conducted a detailed study on the bottling and beverage production market in the Kingdom prior to issuing the decision. It ensured that the acquisition would not raise any competition concerns in the bottling and beverage production sector in the Saudi market since the acquisition is of the plant in taking place in UAE only, a source at the authority said.

The Authority added that bottling and beverage production sector has a large number of competitors.

It should be noted that GAC approved 117 economic concentrations in various sectors so far in 2021.
