The General Assembly of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), at its 77th meeting, which was held in Boston, USA, during from 3 to 5 October, elected the Director General of the General Organization of Saudi Airlines “Saudia” Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, as a member of the IATA’s Nominations Committee, in appreciation of the contributions of “Saudia” to the air transport industry.
It is noteworthy that Al-Omar is an elected member of the Board of Governors, which is IATA’s highest legislative authority, and its members exercise oversight and executive role, on behalf of the members in representing the interests of the association, while the Nomination Committee of the IATA is concerned with making recommendations, at the annual general meeting for the appointments of new members, to the Board of Governors.
