On cooperation in the financial fields

AGFUND, Iraqi Central Bank Co-sign MoU

Iraqi delegation paid a visit to the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) headed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Mustafa Ghaleb, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom Dr. Abdul Sattar Hadi Al-Janabi, as part of a visit by the Iraqi delegation to the Kingdom.

The delegation was received by the Executive Director of AGFUND Dr. Nasser Al-Qahtani.

During the visit, the delegation has met with Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of AGFUND, where the two sides co-signed a memorandum of understanding that included aspects of cooperation and work in the areas of financial inclusion, financial education and financial digitization, in addition to discussing a number of development concerns.

It is noteworthy that AGFUND banks for financial inclusion are as many as nine, and they operate in nine countries: Jordan, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Palestine, Mauritania, Sierra Leone), providing a number of banking products to the target groups, among which are: microfinance, savings, remittances, insurance), where the number of beneficiaries of these banks reached more than 6 million, while the number of employees in these banks reached 1,357 male and female employees.
