Global efforts to reduce emissions must avoid harming poor countries economies

Saudi Comprehensive Energy Strategy, in the pipeline -Prince-minister of Energy Announces

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the minister of energy said that global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions must avoid harming the economies of poor countries, as developing countries cannot pay the cost of carbon, like the rich ones.

During participation in a session on investing in the circular carbon economy, he said that the Kingdom’s ministry of energy will issue an energy strategy, in a quick time, in an embodiment of the green Kingdom and the green Middle East initiatives.

Financing of the circular economy program for carbon can reach $10 billion in 10-year, and we will provide 15% of the financing for this matter, he elaborated.
