The Ministers of Municipality, Industry Co-inaugurate 1st Factory for Modern Construction Methods

Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef co-inaugurated Alyan Factory for Modern Building Methods, in Sudair City for Industry and Business, in the Riyadh region, on Tuesday.

The aim falls in line with promoting investment in advanced construction technologies, and contributing to keeping pace with Industrial development, by taking advantage of the modern construction initiative launched by the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program “Ndaleb”, in addition to activating the role of construction techniques, to enable Saudi families to own adequate housing, in record time, with high quality and at a competitive cost, by switching from traditional construction to modern construction.

During the inauguration, Al-Hogail explained that the project comes as an extension of a series of factories supported by the Ministry, through the Modern Construction Initiative, which numbered as many as 18, so far, expressing his hope to increase their numbers, during the coming period, to provide suitable job opportunities for Saudi men and women, in the construction sector.

In a way that ensures the promotion of local content, he added, in the real estate sector and increasing the participation of the private sector in the non-oil GDP.

He noted the role of factories specialized in modern construction methods, in promoting the development of the Saudi construction sector and the shift from traditional construction to the modern, to achieve a higher quality of implementation, and to accelerate the pace of implementation of residential projects, in a lesser time and at a competitive cost, in order to achieve the objectives of the housing program, by facilitating the ownership of Saudi families and access to 70% ownership percentage by 2030.

That is in light of the unlimited support that the sector enjoys from the rational leadership.

For his part, minister Al-Khorayef stressed the ministry’s keenness to stimulate capital to invest in the industrial sector, which is one of the objectives of the Kingdom Vision 2030, in diversifying the economic base, by encouraging quality investments, providing an attractive and stable industrial environment that enhances competitiveness of sector, locally and internationally.

Pointing to the ministry’s keenness to create the work environment in the factories to be suitable for employing and qualifying the sons and daughters of the country, he said that would take place, through the quality of jobs created by the sector and the continuation of training and qualification for its workers, especially since this factory specifically worked to establish a center for training Saudi engineers to work in the sector .

Al-Khorayef indicated that the ministry places among its priorities the localization of qualitative and modern industries, and that the industrial sector turns into a domain that relies on the latest modern construction methods and in line with the developments of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Including preparing 100 factories to rely on these technologies, he said, stating that these efforts will be reflected, in the quality of jobs it provides in a way that reduces the employment of cheap and low-skilled labor.
