CITC Launch the Qualifying Category Track for Cloud Computing Service Providers

Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced the launch of the “Qualifying Category” track for cloud computing service providers, in the Kingdom, to enable and qualify enterprises wishing to provide the sector with their services.

The authority clarified that the qualification category track allows the applicants to register and start providing services, in accordance with the regulatory framework for cloud computing, provided that the requirements of one of the three basic categories are met, within a period not exceeding one year, starting from the date of approval to join this track.

The authority indicated that the qualification category enables service providers to provide cloud computing services to all private sector, institutions as well as individuals, except for the financial sector and government agencies, in the Kingdom.

It also pointed out that this step is an extension of its efforts to enhance competitiveness and attract investment, in the cloud computing services sector, across the Kingdom.
