Riyadh-Maaal: The Saudi Export Development Authority have expressed pride in reporting a non-precedent historically monthly record of non-oil exports, in June, 2021, as they posted SR23.5 billion, including SR21.0 bln for the exports and SR2.5 bln for the re-exports, against SR16.8 billion, in June 2020, “Maaal” the Saudi Arabia’s leading online business daily reported. The exports exceeded the barrier of SR20 billion, in March, April and May, as well, in a row, for the first time. Non-oil exports’ rise, estimated at 40 per cent, in June 2021 compared to June 2020, a fat that reassured the great efforts jointly exerted and contributed to secure such an achievement. It’s noteworthy that China was the leading exports’ destination, in June 2021, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s exports value to the mainland surpassed SR3.0 billion, followed by the Emirates with SR2.8 billion, Belgium with SR1.3, India and Bahrain with SR2.1 billion and 1.1 billion, respectively. Volumes of exports to the aforementioned nations constituted as much as 40 per cent of the overall valuation of the Kingdom non-oil exports, while the destinations of the exports rose to as many as 140 countries, all over the world, in June 2021. The most receiving outlets of these exports were the seaports, with a total valuation of SR17.8 billion, followed by the land crossings with SR3.7 billion and finally the airfields with SR2.0 billion.
In accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030, the economic diversification is the mainstay towards realising its objectives, notably through maximisation of the non-oil sectors contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Thus, the paramount role assigned to the Saudi Exports Development Authority reaffirmed, as it is the Saudi flagship for promoting non-oil exports and overture towards world markets. The Saudi Exports’ Development Authority spares no efforts to raise the contribution of the non-oil sectors to the GDD, aiming to bolster the non-oil exports contribution from only 16 per cent to as much as 50 per cent of the GDP. For attaining such a challenging position, it has taken a series of measures, plans, programs, policies and initiatives, as well, in order to consolidate the competitive edges of the Saudi non-oil products, in the regional as well as the world markets.
