Elon Musk, CEO of the American electric car manufacturer Tesla, has threatened to leave the company if he is not granted more shares.
According to the Financial Times, the company’s board of directors has decided to grant Elon Musk $30 billion in stock.
Following disappointing results last month, Musk renewed his threat to leave the company. Tesla announced in a statement that the shares were granted based on a recommendation from a special committee formed by the board of directors, which includes its chairwoman, Robyn Denholm, and her fellow board member, Kathleen Wilson-Thompson.
