Data from the European Statistical Agency (Eurostat) showed on Tuesday that industrial production in the eurozone recovered in May, supported by a strong rebound in the production of non-durable consumer goods.
Industrial production grew by 1.7% month-on-month in May, exceeding expectations, after a 2.2% decline in April.
Among the main industrial groups, production of non-durable consumer goods jumped by 8.5%.
Production of capital goods and energy-related goods rose by 2.7% and 3.7%, respectively.
Production of intermediate goods declined by 1.7%, and production of durable consumer goods also declined by 1.9%.
