Chemanol Appoints Awad Al-Waridah as CEO Following Leadership Transition

Methanol Chemicals Company (Chemanol) announced on Tuesday that its Board of Directors has resolved to terminate the assignment of Eng. Fares Ahmed Al-Abbad as Chief Executive Officer, effective 14 July 2025. Eng. Al-Abbad will return to his previous position as Vice President of Manufacturing.

The Board also announced the appointment of Eng. Awad Fahad Al-Waridah as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective 15 July 2025.

Eng. Al-Waridah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University and has over 25 years of professional experience in the petrochemical industry. He previously held several leadership roles at SABIC, both locally and internationally, across various domains including research and technology, manufacturing, strategic business units, local content development, and growth projects.

Most recently, he served as General Manager of SABIC’s Strategic Transformation Project (STAR). He has also held board memberships and chaired several committees at affiliated companies within and outside the Kingdom.
