European shares fell on Friday as investors assessed the uncertainty surrounding trade deals with the United States, which are approaching the July 9 deadline.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.4% to 541.61 points by 07:04 GMT, putting it on track for a weekly decline, while other major indices in the region also declined.
With the 90-day suspension of Trump’s high tariffs set to expire next week, investors have taken a cautious stance as several major trading partners, including the European Union, have yet to reach trade deals.
