Najran Cement Signs Power Station Deal Under Fuel Substitution Program

Najran Cement Co. announced on Wednesday it has signed an agreement with National Grid SA, a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Co., to build a power transmission station supplying electricity to its plant in Sultana, Najran, with a load capacity of 67 MVA.

The project is part of Saudi Arabia’s Liquid Fuel Displacement Program (LFDP) and is covered by an agreement valid until 31 December 2025 or until completion—whichever comes first, the company said in a statement published on Tadawul.

The initiative supports the Kingdom’s broader efforts to reduce dependence on liquid fuels and is aligned with energy, industry, and mineral resources strategies to enhance sustainability. Najran Cement expects the project to reduce emissions from power generation and improve the reliability of its operational processes.
