European stocks opened lower on Tuesday, as the air war between Iran and Israel entered its fifth day, heightening the risk of regional unrest and prompting investors to seek safe-haven assets.
The Stoxx Europe 600 index fell 1.11% to 540.90 points, after ending a five-day losing streak with gains on Monday.
The German DAX index fell 1.5% to 23,335.09 points, the British FTSE 100 index fell 0.7% to 8,813.69 points, and the French CAC 40 index fell 1.12% to 7,653.51 points.
