Saudi Industrial Production Index Rises 2% in March

The General Authority for Statistics today released the results of the Industrial Production Index for March 2025, showing a 2.0% increase compared to the same month the previous year.

According to the bulletin, manufacturing activities recorded a notable growth of 5.1% year-on-year, while the index for water supply, sanitation, waste management, and treatment activities increased by 15.0%.

Conversely, the index for mining and quarrying activities decreased by 0.2%, and the index for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activities declined by 0.9%. At the level of the main economic classifications, the oil activities index rose by 0.5%, while the non-oil activities index recorded a 5.6% increase compared to March 2024.

It is worth noting that the General Authority for Statistics releases the Industrial Production Index on a monthly basis to measure relative changes in industrial production quantities. This index is based on data from the Industrial Production Survey, which is conducted on a selected sample of establishments operating in targeted industrial sectors, including: mining and quarrying; manufacturing; electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply; and water supply, sanitation, waste management, and treatment.
