Salama Records SAR 35.4 Mln Q1 Loss

Salama Cooperative Insurance Co. recorded on Thursday a net loss after Zakat attributable to shareholders during the first quarter of SAR 35.4 million, compared to a profit of SAR 10 million in the same quarter last year. This came after today’s announcement of the preliminary financial results for the (three-month) period ending March 31, 2025.

Net insurance losses in the first quarter amounted to SAR 35.6 million, compared to a profit of SAR 11.7 million in the same quarter last year.

Total shareholders’ equity (excluding non-controlling interests) for the three-month period reached SAR 317.3 million, compared to SAR 215 million in the same period last year, a growth of 47.5%.

Loss per share for the current period reached SAR 1.18, compared to profits per share of SAR 0.41 in the same period a year earlier.
