SAPTCO Posts SAR 20 Mln Loss in Q1 2025

Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) recorded on Thursday a net loss of SAR 20 million during the first quarter of 2025, compared to a loss of SAR 48.6 million in the same quarter of last year, a decrease of 58.7%. This came after the announcement today of the estimated financial results for the (three-month) period ending March 31, 2025.

Operational loss decreased by 86% to SAR 1.6 million in the first quarter of 2025, compared to SAR 12.2 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

Loss per share amounted to SAR 0.19 in the first quarter, compared to SAR 0.39 in the same quarter of the previous year.

According to the Company, accumulated losses increased as of Dec. 31, 2024, from SAR 328.1 million, equivalent to 26.25% of the Company’s capital of SAR 1.25 billion, to SAR 352.4 million, equivalent to 28.19% of the capital. The increase in these losses occurred as of March 31, 2025, due to the losses incurred in the first quarter of 2025.
