Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has earned tens of billions of dollars in recent years from his stake in the chipmaker, but he’s getting his first pay raise in a decade.
Huang’s base salary increased to $1.5 million, a 49% increase from 2024, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
His variable cash also increased by $1 million, or 50%, from fiscal 2024. Stock awards increased to $38.8 million, bringing total pay to $49.9 million. The filing noted that the compensation committee “believed this was appropriate given the internal pay parity with the base salaries” of other senior executives, and “this represents Mr. Huang’s first base pay increase in 10 years.”
Nvidia is experiencing a boom that has made it one of the world’s most valuable companies, thanks to its graphics processing units that power the most powerful AI models. Revenues jumped 114% to $130.5 billion in fiscal 2025, the company reported in February. The company’s stock price surged more than ninefold between the end of 2022 and the end of last year. Huang’s roughly 3.5% stake is currently worth about $94 billion. The company said in its filing that Huang’s 2025 compensation also included $3.5 million in housing, consulting, and chauffeur services fees. In the previous year, Huang’s housing and consulting fees totaled $2.2 million. Google said in its latest filing that it paid $8.27 million in personal security and travel fees to CEO Sundar Pichai, a 22% increase from the previous year.
