China: Chinese Airlines and Boeing Hit Hard by Tariffs

China’s Ministry of Commerce said in a statement Tuesday that Chinese airlines and Boeing have been hit hard by US tariffs.

It noted that US tariffs have disrupted global supply chains, air transportation, and investment activities.

The ministry expressed hope that the United States would respond to companies’ concerns and work to create a stable trade environment.

Boeing said last week that several of its customers in China had indicated they would not receive new aircraft due to the tariffs, and that it was looking to resell dozens of aircraft that were likely not delivered to China.

Boeing returned three 737 Max aircraft to the United States after sending them to China for delivery to Chinese customers.
