The Federation of Saudi Chambers, represented by the National Committee for Sustainability and Green Economy, launched a five-year strategy (2025-2030), aiming to strengthen the role of the private sector as a partner in the transition to a green economy and sustainable development.
Eng. Khaled Al-Othman, Chairman of the National Committee for Sustainability and Green Economy, explained that the strategy includes identifying directions, establishing regulatory frameworks, launching major projects in environmental sectors, and creating an investment environment to attract the private sector and stimulate its participation in achieving sustainability goals.
He explained that the strategy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a diversified and sustainable economy that enhances societal well-being and conserves natural resources.
The strategy includes six main objectives: enhancing the Kingdom’s global position in sustainability; diversifying the economy and promoting investment and financing in related sectors; raising awareness and education about the concept of sustainability and the green economy; improving the legislative structure to promote sustainability and investment in environmental sectors; empowering the green economy as a pillar for achieving sustainable social well-being; and developing programs to preserve and protect the environment for a green future.
