Japanese stocks close mixed
Japanese stocks closed mixed today, despite sharp declines in automakers’ shares, while investor confidence improved thanks to demand for index futures.
The Nikkei index fell 0.6% to 37,799.97 points, while the broader Topix index rose about 0.1% to close at 2,815.47 points.
