Saudi bank credit exceeds 3 trillion riyals, recording an annual growth of 15% by the end of January 2025

Total bank credit granted to the public and private sectors in the Kingdom reached its highest level of 3,005,946 million riyals by the end of January 2025, achieving an annual growth rate of 15% and an increase of more than 348,219 million riyals, compared to the same period in 2024, when it amounted to 2,621,726 million riyals.

According to a report published by the Saudi Press Agency, total bank credit achieved monthly growth of 2% by the end of January 2025, an increase of approximately 50,395 million riyals, compared to the end of December 2024, when it amounted to 2,955,550 million riyals, according to the monthly statistical bulletin issued by the Saudi Central Bank for January 2025. Bank credit granted to the public and private sectors is distributed across more than 17 diverse economic activities, supporting and enhancing comprehensive and sustainable economic growth and contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Long-term bank credit (over 3 years) accounted for 48.6% of total credit, valued at SAR 1,461,193 million by the end of January 2025. Short-term bank credit (less than one year) represented 36.6% of total credit, valued at SAR 1,100,146 million.
