Long-term bank credit in the Kingdom hits 1.4 trillion riyals

Data issued by the Saudi Central Bank “SAMA” revealed that the total bank credit according to terms in the Kingdom amounted to 2.9 trillion riyals by the end of last year, and long-term bank credit topped with 1.4 trillion riyals, followed by short-term bank credit with 1 trillion riyals, then medium-term bank credit with 444.4 billion riyals.

According to the statistical bulletin, the total bank credit according to terms by the end of 2023 amounted to 2.5 trillion riyals, and in 2022 it amounted to 2.3 trillion riyals, and during 2021 it amounted to 2 trillion riyals, and in 2020 the total bank credit according to terms amounted to 1.7 trillion riyals.

On the other hand, the total consumer loans in the Kingdom increased by the end of 2024 to 470.9 billion riyals compared to 441.8 billion riyals by the end of 2023. Excluding (other activities), which accounted for the largest share of total consumer loans by the end of 2024, amounting to 432.1 billion riyals, representing 91.7% of total loans, the activity of (cars and personal transportation) topped with 11.7 billion riyals, followed by (renovation and improvement of real estate) with 8.9 billion riyals in loans, then (furniture and durable goods) with 8.5 billion riyals, then (education) with 8.1 billion riyals, and (tourism and travel) with 992 million riyals, and finally (health care) with 471 million riyals.
