Riyadh is set to host the second edition of the Global Labor Market Conference today, bringing together 45 labor ministers, heads and representatives of international organizations, 200 speakers, and over 5,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
The two-day conference includes a range of engaging events, such as a ministerial roundtable meeting for labor ministers, the signing of multiple agreements, and an exhibition highlighting major projects from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development that have received local, regional, and international accolades.
It will also feature meetings between representatives from the government, private sector, and international labor organizations, as well as over 50 specialized dialogue sessions organized in collaboration with the International Labour Organization, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the Misk Foundation. This international collaboration elevates the discussions, greatly enriching the event’s recommendations.
The conference will focus on presenting innovative solutions, best practices, and global experiences, addressing key labor market challenges. It will also highlight developing sustainable skills to keep pace with rapid changes, explore strategies to boost productivity, and examine challenges facing youth, seeking ways to unlock their full potential.
It will promote green jobs in the global drive for a fair and sustainable economy and discuss the role of small businesses and new work models in creating innovative job opportunities that support economic growth and enhance the competitiveness of global labor markets.
Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi stated that the conference, held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting global efforts in addressing the rapidly changing challenges in labor markets. He emphasized that the conference seeks to unite key stakeholders from around the world to create a vision that fosters sustainable growth and ensures prosperity for all.
A key objective of hosting the conference is to enhance the attractiveness and global competitiveness of the Saudi labor market, with a focus on aligning international efforts to develop actionable strategies that promote the development of labor markets at both local and global levels.
