European stocks surge to record high
European stocks surged to record highs on Friday, the end of the trading week, supported by personal and household goods stocks.
The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose 0.4%, after hitting an all-time high at the end of the previous session.
The personal and household goods sub-index rose 1.6%. The mining sub-index also rose 2.1%, thanks to higher metal prices.
