The General Authority of Civil Aviation, represented by the committee concerned with examining violations of the provisions of the Civil Aviation System, imposed (542) violations during the year 2024 AD, including imposing financial fines amounting to 18.89 million riyals on entities and individuals violating the Civil Aviation System, executive regulations and instructions issued by the Authority.
The report showed the issuance of (111) violations monitored by air carriers, due to their failure to comply with the Authority’s instructions regarding the advance passenger registration system and failure to adhere to time slots; The total fine amounted to (3.65 million riyals, and (9) other violations against air carriers; due to their failure to comply with the Authority’s instructions, where the total fines amounted to 290 thousand riyals, and 305 violations due to air carriers’ failure to follow the Passenger Rights Protection Regulations, and the total fine amounted to 14.42 million riyals, in addition to 17 violations against licensed companies for not adhering to the instructions issued by the Authority and the civil aviation regulations; where the total fine amounted to 175 thousand riyals, and two violations issued against two air transport companies for not adhering to implementing the provisions of the licenses issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation), and the total fine amounted to 40 thousand riyals. The report also revealed that the committee issued (92) violations against individuals, including 15 violations related to the use of drones without obtaining a permit from the Authority, with a total fine of 75 thousand riyals, in addition to (74) violations related to passengers not following air safety instructions and behavior on board the aircraft, with a total fine of (79.2 thousand riyals, in addition to (3) violations related to exceeding prohibited areas at airports in violation of the Authority’s regulations and instructions, with a total fine of 3,000 riyals, and (6) glider violations issued against individuals for flying light-weight aircraft without a permit, with a total fine of 155 thousand riyals. The Authority explained that these procedures come within the framework of its keenness to achieve the principle of transparency and clarity, and to confirm its continued commitment to its regulatory and supervisory role in the aviation sector, improve the passenger experience, and enhance the quality of air transport services in the Kingdom.
