US-based Delta Air Lines and Uber have announced a multi-year partnership that will allow Delta SkyMiles members to earn miles when using Uber services, including Uber rides and Uber Eats.
The deal was announced during Delta CEO Ed Bastian’s keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and will launch this spring, though an exact launch date has not been revealed.
“We’re focused on making airport travel efficient and easy, and we’re thrilled to partner with Delta to offer customers the opportunity to earn miles with Uber,” said Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
The move comes as Delta ends its eight-year partnership with Lyft, which will officially end on April 7.
It is worth noting that SkyMiles is the frequent flyer program of Delta Air Lines. Frequent flyer programs allow travelers to earn certain travel benefits based on the number of miles they earn while flying on a particular airline or group of airlines.
