The value of assets of local and foreign public investment funds in the Saudi financial market recorded an annual growth of 37%, with an increase of nearly 43 billion riyals by the end of the third quarter of 2024, to reach 160.08 billion riyals, compared to 117.11 billion riyals for the same period in 2023.
The value of assets achieved a quarterly growth of 10.4%, with an increase estimated at 15.12 billion riyals, compared to 144.96 billion riyals by the end of the second quarter of this year.
The number of subscribers reached 1.57 million subscribers, achieving an annual growth of 51%, an increase of nearly 528 thousand subscribers, compared to 1.04 million subscribers at the end of the same period last year, according to data from the Capital Market Authority’s quarterly statistical bulletin 2024.
This growth was supported by the increase in local investment assets, which achieved an annual growth of 42%, an increase estimated at 39.59 billion riyals, to reach a total of about 134.43 billion riyals, representing 84% of the total value of assets.
While the value of foreign investment assets recorded an annual growth of 15.1%, an increase of more than 3 billion riyals, to reach 25.65 billion riyals, which represents 16% of the total value of assets.
The number of public investment funds grew on an annual basis by 10%, with an increase of 27 investment funds to reach a total of 310 funds.
The assets of public investment funds were distributed according to the type of investment into 14 investment types, the highest of which in terms of value were “money market” assets, with a value of 44.86 billion riyals, representing 28% of total assets. Second came “stock” assets, with 34.76 billion riyals, representing 27.3% of total assets. Third came “real estate investment traded” funds, with a value of 29.26 billion riyals, representing 18.3% of total assets. Fourth came “debt instrument” funds, with a value of 22.23 billion riyals, representing 14% of total assets.
